Do I need a 360° camera to use BuildVR?

Accepted Answer

No. BuildVR's AI conversion engine works entirely from standard 2D landscape video shot on any camera, smartphone, or drone. You do not need a 360° camera at any point.

What video formats and resolutions are supported?

We accept MP4, AVI, MKV, and other standard formats in landscape 16:9 orientation. Output supports up to 4K and 8K resolution across all formats including 360° equirectangular, HEVC, fisheye, and fulldome.

How does API access work on enterprise plans?

Accepted Answer

Enterprise customers get access to the full BuildVR REST API including signed upload URLs, job lifecycle control, status/retry/cancel endpoints, and up to 100GB default storage. Custom storage and processing limits are available on request.

What is the Launch Simulator (ScreenLab)?

ScreenLab is a real-time 3D environment simulator that lets you preview your video on flat, curved, dome, and half-dome screens before deployment. You can adjust height, radius, arc angle, and audience distance interactively. It's included in both enterprise plans.

What is the "Gen AI Regenerated Equirectangular Video" (beta)?

Accepted Answer

This is our next-generation conversion mode that uses generative AI to reconstruct the full 360° scene  not just project the 2D frame into equirectangular format, but actually infer the missing field of view around the camera. It's currently in beta and available on both enterprise plans.
